The Green – Maintenance regieme

The Green is regularly maintained by M W Agri who provide the services below.  The information is indicative and there may be some variation to the outline provided below

The Green Visibility splay
It is essential for road safety that all sections regardless of the cutting regime adjacent have a clear four metre wide strip of low cut grass along the whole length of the Nettleden Road and two metres low cut strip adjacent to the path (which runs along the back of the Green, adjacent to the boundary fences and walls of the houses).
The Green Frequency Comments
The Green  c. 6 acres of land crossed by eight driveways. For monthly regieme see  below

A. Verges l- 2 meter cut roadside, driveway and pavement sides
B. Adelaide Cross Strip – cut a wide strip either side and around the Adelaide Cross on the Manor House Section
C. Hudnall Lane Section – from Manor House Drive to Hudnall Lane
D. War Memorial – From Church Road to end of John O’Gaddesden hedge wall (no 31)
E. Lady Marion Cross area between the National Trust fence and stone memorial bench at Entrance to Ashridge Park.

April Cut Verges and Adelaide Cross Strip, Hudnall Lane section, War memorial and Lady Marion Cross at entrance to Ashridge avoiding daffodils
May Cut Verges and Adelaide Cross Strip, Hudnall Lane section, War memorial and Lady Marion Cross at entrance to Ashridge.

August Cut all Green except two areas:
DO NOT CUT area Red House Drive to Manor House Drive
DO NOT CUT Strip either side of the Adelaide Cross and verges
Cut all remaining sections of the Green

October Cut and put to bed.  War Memorial Area in Front of John O’Gaddesden House to be cut short in readiness for Remembrance Sunday
