Little Gaddesden Parish Council works closely with the National Trust and regularly attends briefing meetings to better understand the issues facing the Trust, the Ashridge Estate and how these might or will affect residents.
The National Trust have introduced new signage to help residents and visitors to the area understand the risks. Black signage bans BBQs and fires at all times.
At periods of higher risk signage changes to Red to warn of higher risks from fire. These are now in place.
As at July 2026 the NT asks everyone to be particularly vigilant and to report any fires, BBQs or other activities that could pose a fire risk on NT land.
The Parish Council urges residents of Little Gaddesden, and any contractors/gardeners working in the area, to follow the National Trust guidance until further notice on all private and public land (including land managed by the Trust or other authority on behalf of the public) in Little Gaddesden.
Please avoid doing or discarding anything that might cause a fire in the area and please pick up broken glass or other rubbish which you see which might cause a fire.
