Road Closures

From time to time roads in the area are closed with and without prior notification to LGPC.

Where possible when LGPC are informed in advance, details will be shared on this page.   Please click on the underlined text to link to the details.   The attached Public Notices from Herts County Council show that there is no precise date for the works.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating the making of a film (which is a ‘relevant event’ under the Act of 1984), to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Road, Little Gaddesden from a point 325 metres north east of its junction with Nettleden Road, north north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Little Gaddesden Bridleway No.026, a distance of approximately 383 metres.

 

There will be no alternative route available for vehicular traffic whilst the road closure is in place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible.

 

ADDITIONALLY all bridleway users will be prohibited from using Little Gaddesden Bridleway No.026 from its junction with Church Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 127 metres.

 

There will be no alternative route available for bridleway users whilst the bridleway closure is in place. However access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible.

 

The temporary road and bridleway closures will be in force between the hours of 7.00am and 1.00pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026 when signs are in place.

The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing and Temporary Waiting Restrictions in Various Roads in Little Gaddesden, Great Gaddesden, Studham and Dagnall) Order 2024

Please see the Public Notice and plan giving details of Road Closures from 19 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

The Public Notice, which also includes contact details for further information, will appear in the Hemel Hempstead Gazette on 31 July and 14 August 2024

The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing of Hudnall Lane, Little Gaddesden and Red Lion Lane, Great Gaddesden) Order 2024

Please see the Public Notice and plan giving details of Road Closures from 29 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

The Public Notice, which also includes contact details for further information, will appear in the Hemel Hempstead Gazette on 10  and 24 July 2024.
